SPECIAL EVENT STATION GB1CAM

INTRODUCTION

As part of the 100 Year celebrations of Amateur Radio in the Cambridge area it is planned to activate the callsign GB1CAM between 2nd and 29th September for as many QSOs on as many frequencies and modes as possible. Ofcom have authorised its use by anyone with a Full Amateur Radio Licence, provided it is only operated from one location at a time, you are located within 35 miles of JO02ah, which is in Willingham, and a log is kept of all calls using the special event callsign.

BOOKING A TIME

To ensure that the callsign is only used at one location at a time, we have set up a time sheet. If you would like to participate, please have a look at the Google Sheet here

If you want to activate a free time-slot then please email: treasurer@cdarc.org.uk with:

  1. your selected times
  2. your location and Maidenhead locator
  3. your agreement to email an ADIF file of your QSOs back to the CDARC treasurer
  4. your agreement to operate within your licence conditions and in a manner that will not discredit CDARC, CUWS, CRG and Camb-Hams.

PLEASE NOTE:

You may only operate when you have received confirmation of your booking, so please e-mail at least 48 hours before your intended activation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Please encourage anyone you contact to have a look at the GB1CAM entry on QRZ.com which has the rationale for the callsign along with links to the CDARC, CUWS, CRG and Camb-Hams websites.

Your logs will be uploaded to LOTW and Clublog. Your contacts may request a QSL either via the bureau or via ClubLog.

Intermediate and Foundation members are welcome to activate GB1CAM but may only operate under the supervision of a Full Licence holder.
